Archer is quality.
If you watch his wrist position, he gets it behind the ball like Curtly Ambrose did. It’s my first extended look at him and I’m impressed. He’s a mile or two quicker than Cummings Pattinson or Hazlewood, I’ll be interested to see how Starc goes pace wise when he finally gets a run.
We also have Jye Richardson who was unlucky to break down or he’d have been there ahead of either Pattinson, Siddle or Hazlewood. He’s more of an Anderson, has a good late outswinger at 85, doesn’t hit the pitch as hard.

Some spell from Archer, believe the hype! Too late for this test almost certainly but good to see Smith rattled. He does not look comfortable for the first time this series. Bugger is still in though!

Might have knocked him out here.
Imagine facing that without a helmet and with 6 short legs. Bradman averaged 65 against it.

Bad review, that’s plumb.
Nice that he was clapped off this time, getting boo’d off with a concussion was fairly poor form. I’m ok with Archer going back to his mark when he hit Smith.
Tough lad Smith.

Yep. Other teams have had players, and captains hacking at it with bottle tops etc. I’m glad we went beyond the ICC sanction. I can understand people booing Warner, even we don’t like him but not Smith.
I think you should persevere with Roy for 3 more tests 😉
Root unlucky again.

Was a peach to Root - and first ball - tough to deal with those even after you've got your eye in. Not sure we have any reasonable alternatives to Roy Lol @ not even the Aussies liking Warner - it's too true. Likes to dish it out, but notoriously thin skinned...

I don’t think he’s a good or natural captain, but unless you want to burden Stokes, who would you give it to?

Couldn't see Stokes as a great captain.... leads on the field... not sure about off it.
If it were me I'd give it to Broad... but bowlers are not oft considered...

It’s not that Warner gives it out and can’t take it, I think he takes it quite well.
He’s just a dickhead. If he weren’t a professional athlete he’d be that guy working a labouring job that hassles the new guy for fun.
