The Aussies will certainly be having a red hot go with the ball, and then circumstances will dictate how they bat. Can't see England declaring with too much of a gamble if they get that far. Still could be an interesting day either way!

The battle between Archer and Smith was gripping yesterday. He has got something special that boy, to be able to rough up the best batsman in the world. So much for not having the stamina for a test match! Nobody wanted to see it end like that though, it was a horrible blow. We all love seeing fast bowlers hitting the body and bouncing the ball off helmets, but not that. Fair play to Smith for coming back, the bloke is a warrior.

Was pretty scary to watch but Archer did nothing wrong. Would have been nice to Smith get to 3 figures and set a record that may never have been broken - 4 hundreds on English soil on the trot.

Another 80 and we’d struggle to get them but I think we would have a go. 180-200 would be bloody hard on a 5th day pitch with 50 or so overs of your quicks getting variable bounce.

Warner may be the gamechanger. He’s good in the second dig historically, and is due.

It was a really nasty hit. On the radio yesterday they were saying that if you're ruled out due to the concussion protocols, you're forced to not play for 7-10 days - so Smith is looking doubtful for the next test too? Defo not the way we would have wanted him out... I was just hoping he'd turn his ankle playing silly games on the pitch pre-test

I have no doubt no one in here would have seriously wanted to see him hurt or celebrated it. The English players dealt with it well, it was just a portion of the crowd were morons. Same would have happened here no doubt - we (the idiots here) booed Murali until he retired 😕
