....If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.

Trump tweeted ‘billions of dollars’ would be saved on military contracts. Then the Pentagon fired the official doing that. <---- LINK It was at this point that Assad said he was instructed by Lord’s office to delete all the information he had concerning briefings on the proposed progress payment rule from a timeline he compiled for Shanahan’s review. “That in itself was really troubling,” Assad said. “I mean, it was really ... people telling you, ‘destroy information,’ or ‘eliminate information,’ so that the secretary doesn’t know what really happened ... I’ve never had anybody ask me to do that in 45 years, or direct me to do it.”

Trump slams 'pathetic' Fed as US manufacturing index sinks to decade low“Bottom line, we have now tariffed our way into a manufacturing recession in the US and globally,” Boockvar said, asking what the exit strategy is with no end in sight to the standoff. “Sorry to have to say this again but using tariffs as the tool to push back against China was a really dumb idea and history will not look kind upon the strategy,” he added. In a research note to clients, Deutsche Bank’s Torsten Slok wrote the ISM read was “serious” and warned that “there is no end in sight to this slowdown, the recession risk is real.”

What scares me the most is that we are seeing the first hints of how the Rethugs are going to proceed, going forwards, with regards to the impeachment inquiry and, in fact, ALL legitimate congressional investigations of their "team" - by simply thumbing their noses at them. And we have ZERO options in dealing with such flagrant law-breaking. The Secretary of State has just announced that he will ignore all subpoenas that have been issued to the State Department. These are legal SUBPOENAS - and the Sec. of State himself is going to just flat-out ignore them. Trump himself has ignored and/or instructed staff to ignore other Congressional subpoenas as well. In addition, he has ignored actual judicial rulings. The response to all of these violations of the law: nada.
If the Rethugs and their Leaders just continue ignoring everything the Democratic majority House of Representatives does, including court rulings it doesn't care for, subpoenas, investigations, etc., then we in effect no longer have a government or a Constitution. The Rethuglican Party will have committed a flat-out authoritarian take-over of the US government and nullified an entire segment of the government and all citizens represented by them (i.e., anyone not a Republican). The ONLY thing that has ever made our government legitimate has been the participants actually following the laws and the rules. Once they decide they can just ignore them, it's all over. The Democratic House isn't going to suddenly have the ability to enforce the laws. What are they going to do? Arrest the Secretary of State? Put him in the little jail in the basement of the Congressional building? Of course not. They can cite him with Contempt of Congress - but again: big deal. Will that somehow make him start following the law and obeying subpoenas? They can try to levy fines against him - but again: big deal. How are they going to enforce it?
What if Trump is impeached, and clear evidence is piled up to the sky of his many criminal acts and abuses of power and unfitness for office, and articles of impeachment are drafted based on that evidence and sent to the Senate? Who cares? And when the Republican senate chooses to just ignore the articles? What then? Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING will happen, and that simply reinforces the validity of the Republicans' apparent new strategy - just ignore the law and the Constitution. What if Trump loses the election in 2020, but calls it "a deep state coup" and refuses to leave office? Anyone think the Republicans in the Senate will tell him to leave? Or that he would listen if they did? What if Trump declares martial law and suspends habeas corpus, and grants himself another term? Who is going to stop him?
We have spent way too many years telling ourselves "it can't happen here," but we never had a lawless regime like this in power before - not even Nixon - or a party so glued in lockstep to it that they put principle and law and democracy aside for their own partisan gain before. I am genuinely scared of what lies ahead, if this lawlessness is indeed the Right's strategy going forward. We have never been here before.

He is giving Americans the fucking bird, and I don't mean an eagle. He is putting it out there in plain language, pretty much saying if you don't like what I am doing then stop me. Asked China to investigate the Bidens live in front of reporters.

I know, right? Just flaunting his law-breaking live on TV because that is how utterly confident he is that nothing is going to happen to him. He and his administration are ignoring Congressional subpoenas, ignoring judges' rulings, etc. And his cultists lap it all up. What a scary precedent to set - if this blatant law-breaking is allowed to stand, we are in serious trouble as a nation going forward. There will be other authoritarians after Trump is gone, who will be much smarter and much more capable and with much more wicked intent. When they get into power, with 1/3 of the nation's citizens behind them, and the precedent established under Trump and the Rethugs that it is OK to violate the law with impunity, we are truly fucked.

The South Carolina senator then stated that the “Kurds stepped up when nobody else would to fight ISIS,” noting that if we abandon the Kurds at this point, nobody will want to help America in the future in fighting radical Islam. Graham also pushed back on Trump’s claim that ISIS has been eradicated.
“The biggest lie being told by the administration [is] that ISIS is defeated,” he declared. “This impulsive decision by the president has undone all the gains we’ve made, thrown the region into further chaos. Iran is licking their chops. And if I’m an ISIS fighter, I’ve got a second lease on life. So to those who think ISIS has been defeated you will soon see.”
