A dispute between the Trump campaign and the city of Minneapolis over the city’s request for an upfront payment for security at President Trump’s planned rally there turned personal, as Mayor Jacob Frey suggested Trump should spend more time doing his job and less time “tweeting garbage out.”

Great quote, great history lesson. Sadly, I strongly doubt there are any Republicans today with even a fraction of that type of conscience or principles that Senator Smith had back then. The entire party seems to have devolved into one big Cult of Trump, and nothing more.

Turkey invades Syria


For those of us opposed to whatever the hell the country has been trying to accomplish over there since 2002 (and the foundational blunder beneath all of this is the invasion of Iraq, into which this country was lied by the previous Republican administration, a prominent member of which was last seen hanging out at a Cowboys game last weekend), the president*'s lame-ass assertion that his flea-on-a-griddle foreign-policy blunder that coincidentally benefits his business partners in Turkey, and his god-alone-knows-what in Moscow, comes as a particularly revolting element of the story.

Two men who reportedly have assisted Rudy Giuliani in his efforts to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden's family have been arrested and were charged Thursday in connection with an alleged scheme to circumvent federal laws against foreign campaign donations.



The two men were arrested Wednesday night at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia, just outside Washington, as they attempted to leave the country "one-way tickets," U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman said at a news conference Thursday afternoon. The two men made an initial appearance in federal court in Virginia Shortly afterward where prosecutors expressed concern they were a "flight risk." A judge set bond at $1 million each and ordered them held in custody until all conditions were met, including surrendering their passports.

President Trump bashed his erstwhile favorite news channel, Fox News, in a pair of tweets Thursday touched off by a new Fox News poll that found a majority of Americans want to see him impeached and removed from office.

“From the day I announced I was running for President, I have NEVER had a good @foxnews Poll,” Trump tweeted. “Whoever their Pollster is, they suck.”

But it’s not the first time Trump has taken issue with Fox News over unfriendly poll results. In August, after Fox News polling data showed him trailing four potential Democratic opponents in the 2020 presidential race, the president struck a conspiratorial tone.



“There’s something going on at Fox,” Trump told reporters. “And I tell you I’m not happy with it.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Testifying in defiance of President Donald Trump's ban, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch told House impeachment investigators Friday that Trump himself had pressured the State Department to oust her from her post and get her out of the country.



Yovanovitch told lawmakers investigating Trump's dealings with Ukraine that there was a "concerted campaign" against her based on "unfounded and false claims by people with clearly questionable motives."

An 18-foot replica of Donald Trump’s border wall has been scaled in a matter of seconds by novice climbers, an eight-year-old girl and a man who returned for another attempt while juggling with one hand.



The US president described his wall as “virtually impenetrable” during a trip to the US-Mexico border in September, claiming 20 “world class” mountain climbers had told him his chosen prototype was difficult to climb.



“We had 20 mountain climbers. That’s all they do, they love to climb mountains … some of them were champions,” Mr Trump said. “And we gave them different prototypes of walls, and this was the one that was hardest to climb … this wall can’t be climbed.”

I just heard on the radio that a poll was taken and if Michelle Obama threw her hat in the ring, she would destroy PAB. I don't especially want her to run but what does that tell us about who we do have a choice of?
