4 down. 1 more and we’re through here.
Roy isn’t up to test standard. It’s pointless having all the shots if you’ve shown you have no idea when to play them. He’s a middle order guy - maybe.
Burns has looked good since that terrible ton. Root MUST bat where he’s comfortable. Was t long ago he was being spoken of as the best in the world.
Can’t say I’m hating it so far after a frustrating day yesterday. You were spot on Jamie, I fell asleep at 2/130 odd.

Oh fuck just realised - that'll be Aussies retaining the Ashes as well. What a disastrous session - from looking like you have every chance to draw the series to pretty much losing it... all it took was 4 crap shots...
On Root as captain - has he won a match against the Aussies yet?

I don’t think he has, but who do you give it to? I can’t see them giving to to Broad. Joe just needs to move back to 4 where he’s comfortable and can focus more on the game. I know for sure that Langer and Steve Waugh pull the strings with Paine, we come out of a break fixing whatever tactical error had happened during it. Are there old England players getting involved with the team like that over there?
There’s not a lot I can say without sounding like they stereotype of an asshole Aussie - but I will say it’s way too early to pull the pin yet. You’ve gotta fight and fight and fight till it’s over. That’s something that’s drilled into us from a young age if you play sport. It’s ok to lose, but never to give up.
Has certainly served me well with my health.

It may be a touch too early - and yep, never give up. On anything. Ever. But realistically.... we're in the cart big time here. IF we can somehow scrabble to 150, I'll accept that may be game back on. But this shower of shit have to bat a 2nd innings - we're not getting any new players for the next instalment  |

So basically, we now need to bowl Australia out for less than 100 or they retain the Ashes today. On day 2 of the 3rd test. Even if we do get them out for 100 (unlikely but not impossible) we then would need 200+ to win. I'm not sure they could get that batting twice. What a shambles. The bowlers deserve better.

We could get 20 wickets today at this rate. I've always been bowler's union but even for me it's a little crazy just how much the ball is on top of the bat in this series.
