Pray tell - what has this admin done when it comes to gun control?
***********************
And this sickens me - El Paso, Dayton make 251 mass shootings in the US in 216 days, more shootings than days in the year

How come this doesn't happen elsewhere? Do all the mentally ill live in America?
I am sick of Americans deferring to the Constitution to determine whether something is wrong or right. "Oh, our constitution says it, so it must be right." That's bullshit thinking; the same kind of thinking that flies planes into buildings and that kicks kids out of their homes because they happen to be gay.
Our forefathers were great visionaries; but they didn't know everything.

I agree with all that was said above me. I am also tired of the lame "mental health" excuse when it comes to these shootings.. In other countries people who do this are called terrorists, here they are called nut jobs. To be fair, mental health is only used as an excuse when the shooter is a white, right-wing racist fuckwit. When it is a person with darker skin-color, the words "mental health" are curiously absent.....

That is a defense mechanism; a person who does these horrible acts cannot possibly be like me so I must find something that sets us apart. That could be religion or skin tone or how someone dresses, or it could be "mental capacity."
It goes with the idea that there must be "something wrong" with a person who is doing this, and there could not be something wrong with me.

I should say that, although it's a natural defense mechanism, the thought to put someone in the "other" group based on their skin tone is rooted in racism. I'm not disputing that.

Ahh he's so annoying - Trump now trying to suggest super-weak gun legislation changes could be tied together with anti-immigration policy As well as lazily & incorrectly pointing at computer games - I see he's also suggesting the internet is to blame for giving marginal views a platform and allowing people to connect and radicalise. He's right... that is happening... he needs to look no further than his own election for a case study... But it's not the cause... every country has internet... let's all count how many suffer from regular as clockwork mass shootings....

That is the most hypocritical statement I have ever heard. He is racist. He is a bigot. He is a white supremacist. I just... I have no words. HE IS THE REASON 32 LIVES WERE LOST IN UNDER 14 HOURS. He is the reason my community has to suffer even more.
Fuck you, Donald Trump. Fuck your hypocritical, racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted, fascist, delusional, Satan-like ass.

That's nuts. And Chicago has some of the tightest gun laws in the US. Obviously means gun laws don't work...

www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/grandmother-averts-mass-shooting-bringing-grandson-hospital-after-threats-n1039226Basically, after hearing her grandson same some things about wanting to shoot up a public space, this grandmother didn't just dismiss the comments. No, she took her grandson to the hospital. A potential mass shooting was prevented. This story speaks to a few things: - guns are absurdly easy to purchase legally or fraudulently - mental illness is extremely common - taking mental health seriously saves lives - the idea that concealed-carry laws discourage mass shooters is completely false (this occurred in the concealed-carry state of TX)

I saw a great headline in rockpapershotgun today...
"Trump blames mass shootings on video game guns, not real guns."
Summed it up quite nicely.

There’s not a single problem America has that is unique to them apart from cowards killing strangers with a gun. Land of the brave huh???
