Fell asleep. Fair result I guess.
I think you’ll click now and win a test, but I still think we’re the better team. 4-0 if we get a bit of luck like you had with the conditions here (batting in sunshine, bowling in overcast), probably 2 or 3-1 will be the result.
Not sure of Smith can play or not. He’s said he’s still a chance so not sure the fact he was subbed means he MUST miss.
Gotta say - not a fan of the replacement. If Smith could be subbed out, so should Jimmy have been from the first test. Injury is injury - what’s stopping someone who’s playing bad from faking a concussion to get a replacement. Not saying you guys or us would do it - but I wouldn’t put it past the Pakki’s or Indians.

.agree 100% should not be allowed
looking forward to the 3rd test we should get a result England at the moment are odds on at 1.85 Aussies are 2.9 i reckon if Smith doesn't play those odds will obviously change also if he doesn't play i reckon we will win this one also Anderson might be available for the 4th test or at least the last one so all is not lost yet personally can't see much change with the batting order reckon they will give Roy another chance opening but i would move both Stokes and Bairstow above Butler
Burns-Roy-Root-Bairstow-Stokes-Denly-Butler-Woakes-Archer-Broad-Leach would be my batting order Bairstow far too low at 7 and Butler at 7 playing with more freedom

Smith is out of the 3rd test makes a lot of sense not too risk him
England have now shortened to 1.72 Aussies out to 3.4
we will never have a better chance to level the series

Is that confirmed? I just watched the 6 o clock news here and they said he had to pass a concussion test tomorrow before having a net, and the decision will be made then.
It would be fair for him to miss I guess. If he was subbed out it must have been a confirmed concussion, although I’m not sure exactly how it’s confirmed.
Just checked the odds here and it’s paying Eng $1.65. The Good Guys $3.20
I think 3.20 is outrageous. Might have to throw a lazy 20 on it. NZ paying $2.50 against Sri Lanka is good value as well.

Confirmed now here that he is out.
If Warner finds form we’ll be ok. Game on lads 💪🏻🇦🇺💪🏻

Not really how we'd have wanted it - but Joffra did the damage with an awesome spell - so all's fair in love & war! I'm sure he'll recover fine for test 4.
With both teams showing they're very capable of batting collapses ... could be a fun one this week.

Yep. Hoping Starc gets a run. He’s our quickest by 3-4 mph. Archer will just have him for raw speed I think but Starc swings it when he bowls well. Also creates a lovely rough spot outside the right handlers off stump for Lyon to bowl into 😉

I think England would have won the last test had it not been for the weather. The weather looks pretty good for the next one That one spell from Archer has completely changed the complexion of the series. I knew he had something about him but he's even surpassed my expectations. And it's so effortless, he looks like he could bowl all day! England's top order is the weakness, time for Root to show his class....

I’d have Siddle for Starc. I’d have Harris in for Bancroft, but Langer loves him, so does Waugh.
Would have been a different game with more time. Can’t see us letting it go at 5 an over in your second dig for as long as we did if it weren’t to get a crack at a win. Maybe I’m wrong, but it looked like our bowlers had switched off. Paine is a tactically poor captain, but so is Root so it evens out.
Archer looks good. He has a lot of potential but he’s only played one test and done ok. It’s not like he took an 8fa. Time will tell but I’d take an Anderson or McGrath over a Archer or Tait. He also looked awesome on debut.
Not saying he won’t be great, just thinking it’s a bit early to be relying on him. I still fear Broad the most of all England bowlers.

Pretty sure Pattinson will come in for Hazlewood as well.

Looks like Harris in for Bancroft, and Pattinson in for Siddle. It’s 3 of our 4 best bowlers now, but I’d have Starc in for either Patto or Hazlewood. I’m still not sure what Renshaw ever did wrong - for mine he was the perfect foil to Warner or maybe Harris with Warner at 3 and Smith at 4.
I still think 3.20 is massive overs.
My Australian XI Renshaw Harris Warner Smith (Marnus Bobby Booshay is a good swap) Head (c) Marsh Wade (until I can justify dropping him then Carey from the World Cup team comes in) WK Pattinson Cummins Starc then our tail, Lyon
Unlucky 12th man Hazlewood, but he’s in the 4 man rotation - could replace either Pattinson or Cummins. Starc would be my first pick every time even though Cummins is the #1 test bowler.
