No, they cannot.
See, that's the thing that the Democrats suck at - they're not willing to do anything and everything to get their way. They believe in nothing except for holding their own place. They care about norms. They care about process. They do not care enough about people.
Already - and we're only 4 days removed - Democrats have said they would not do any of the following:
- cause a government shutdown through budgeting
- impeach the president or the attorney general
- expand the supreme court should Biden become president
These are their positions of leverage, and they aren't willing to use it.
