When the dickhead in the WH worries about the stock market and high numbers of infected interfering with his campaign...I say YES it has.

Trump says he wants country 'opened up' by Easter, despite caution from health experts
Public health experts have said easing restrictions too early could put an enormous strain on hospitals and lead to even more deaths and economic damage. Public health experts and local and state leaders have cautioned against easing restrictions too early, saying it could put an enormous strain on hospitals and lead to even more deaths and economic damage. But Trump said Tuesday that he believed the human toll would be greater should Americans continue to stay at home. www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/trump-says-he-wants-country-open-back-april-12-easter-n1167721

As much as I would love to see my family (huge Easter celebrator here), I think it would be reckless to open back up for Easter when many people would go straight to large gatherings. I think it's a pipe dream and he's saying it for hope purposes. We still haven't even seen the worst yet!

His whole Easter thing is just a ploy to jizz the market higher. Talk optimistic, markets climb, take the credit.
Two weeks from now he comes up with a "reason" why things have to stay locked down. He is just buying time to blame someone in two weeks.
I am willing to bet my left nut that if he gets this virus then his message will change dramatically. All of a sudden it will be a major world changing event. It's all about him, his personal perception of himself and how he looks to the world.
Oh also.
I'm new here lol

Merp. I tend to think it's more about "the economy" to him. He views that as the most important thing. If you are saying that in his eyes, the economy is an extension of himself...then I agree with you.

Welcome guys, enjoy your stay and feel free to enjoin about almost anything.
We have 2 birthdays and Easter coming in April and schools will be closed until May 4th (just announced today). My family always gets together for these events and to tell grandkids birthdays have to be solo events...sucks but it is the safest course, especially after that Italian/American family lost 4 of 7 people who gathered together.

That playbook was an Obama thing...of course Trump wasn't going to use it.

Trump repeated a version of that claim in Wednesday’s briefing. “We have now tested — with the best test — far more than anybody else,” he said. “And when I say ‘anybody else,’ I’m talking about other countries. No country is even close.”

That playbook was an Obama thing...of course Trump wasn't going to use it. What it really shows is that a totally insecure Donald along with an incompetent Administration threw the health and safety of Americans under the bus. This is what complete lack of leadership looks like.

Jared Kushner, son-in-law of and adviser to President Donald Trump, declared on Thursday that the stockpiles of much-needed supplies governors were requesting to help with the coronavirus pandemic weren’t actually meant for the states.
“The notion of the federal stockpile was it’s supposed to be our stockpile,” Kushner said. “It’s not supposed to be states’ stockpiles that they then use.”

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump left little room for doubt. “We’re going to put a hold on money spent to the WHO,” he said, referring to the World Health Organization. “We’re going to put a very powerful hold on it.”
But when he was asked a bit later whether it was the right time to delay money for the health agency in the middle of a pandemic, he denied that he said he would. “I’m not saying that I’m going to do it,” he said during his news briefing Tuesday. “But we’re going to look at it.”
“You did say you were going to do it,” a reporter pointed out.
“No, I didn’t,” he said. “I said we’re going to look at it.”
Trump does not need adversaries to dispute his statements — he does that all by himself. In the course of his daily briefings on the coronavirus pandemic, the president has routinely contradicted himself without ever acknowledging that he does so. In the process, he sends confusing signals that other politicians, public health officials and the rest of the country are left to sort out.
