You all call them election pledges...here across the pond we call them empty promises.

The Tories are behaving in their usual way. In fact, if anything, they are getting worse. Lie, obfuscate, smear. Then double down when anyone points out the lie. Pretend to be on the side of the average Joe even when pretty every policy they've ever enacted has harmed those very people. Trumpian.
Confident Labour will close the gap through the campaign once domestic policy becomes the story (and it inevitably will - people care far more about their day to day lives than the Brexit nonsense) but their chances of winning a majority are slim now that the 60 seats in Scotland are almost totally out of play
So, the opposition parties really need to stop kicking lumps out of each other and people need to vote tactically to beat Tory candidates wherever possible. I don't care how they do it, I just want them to oust the despicable shower that are currently in power and install something with an ounce of compassion that has its priorities straight.
If the Tories get the majority this time, we're going down a very bad road not too dissimilar to what's happened in the US.

The Rees mogg stuff was fucking disgusting. Shows what the Tories really think of average people: we're the elite, we're better than you, we're smarter than you. Then doubled down on by his mate in a way where he expected we'd be ok with what he said.
This is what drives me nuts. They're pretty brazen with what they do. The housing thing, promise to deliver 200,000, give us zero, nobody says anything. Basically calls us all stupid, nobody does anything.
They'll still get voted for, they'll still win.
It's the Brexit election. The Tories have been awful, but people still think their position is clear and labour's is not, even though that isn't true.
It's a VERY unpredictable election, but I fear the worst. I think lib Dems and ukip will have MASSIVE gains, defo in vote numbers, possibly in seats (more likely for lib dem;) greens will have small gains.
Tories may well not get a majority, but unfortunately can't see labour beating them.

I don't really believe the polls (in that i don't think the Tories will win by double digits) but i don't see Labour being the largest party or anywhere near.
Depresses me that 40% of the country are willing to punch themselves in the face & vote Tory, but here we are...

I'm slightly more confident. Labour's manifesto is great, and their campaigning well.
But I knew those things would happen. Everything is still against them, in terms of media (fuck the BBC man!) And propaganda (yeah let's just believe the blatantly Tory rabbi who's been wheeled out by Boris...)
I said it was unpredictable, I stand by that and what else I said.

UPDATE 1-UK PM Johnson implores Trump: please keep out of election
LONDON, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it was best if U.S. President Donald Trump did not get involved in Britain's upcoming election when he visits London for a NATO summit next week. "What we don't do traditionally as loving allies and friends, what we don't do traditionally, is get involved in each other's election campaigns," said Johnson, whose Conservative Party has a commanding lead in the polls ahead of the Dec. 12. "The best (thing) when you have close friends and allies like the U.S. and the UK is for neither side to get involved in each other's election," he told LBC radio. Trump has already waded into the election, saying in October left-wing opposition leader Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, would be "so bad" for Britain and that Johnson should do a pact with Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage news.yahoo.com/1-uk-pm-johnson-implores-103822968.htmlSince he asked him to stay out, we all know what's next.

Yup. Telling Trump to do something - or not do something - means he will do the exact opposite. And perhaps Boris knew that when he said it? (I hope Trump's doctors at Walter Reed last week told him to exercise regularly and cut back on the fast food)

I'm referencing to the 'massive gains' for lib dem and brexit party. Looks very unlikely. No chance labour are going to win the most seats, most likely another hung Parliament.

Yeah, I got that bit wrong. Didn't know how shit Jo swinson was gonna be! Yep, we've slipped back into (mostly) a two party system. But whilst people are obsessing over the Tory lead over Labour, it's going under reported that the Tory support is still @ 2017 levels - just over 40%
Labour have slid back into the mid 30's and the Lib Dems are 5-7% higher than they were in 2017, even if their "surge" hasn't materialised. The Greens are polling 2% higher aswell.
Labour need to do two things in the next week to get us into hung parliament territory.
A/ Convince those potential Lib Dem/Green voters that in most constituencies you have to vote Labour to stop the Tories.
And
B/ Energise the youth vote and make sure they get their voters out on the day (tbf Labour are very good at this).
My money at this point is on a small Tory majority (20-30) - but I hope I'm wrong

And as was obvious, you betray the vote of a majority, you get burnt. The liberals forced Corbyn into offering a 2nd referendum and this is the result. We lost Labour leave constituencies and gained Tory remain constituencies. Fighting for remain should never have been labours fight and wouldn't have been but for the centrists who have absolutely no idea of what working class people want.
