Climate change is starting to uncover Greenland - there’s a lot of natural resources that haven’t been exploited yet, that may well be viable in the next 10-20 years... especially if some global polluters make no effort to change anything 🤑
I almost have a grudging respect... he’s actually trying to profit from something he doesn’t even believe in.

1st, the numbnuts should know you can't just go around buying territories like they did back in the old colonial days. If he wants Greenland, the dipshit should try to invade it and take it by force. i'd get a kick out of watching the rest of the world (except Israel) universally condemn him and prevent it from succeeding. 2nd, it is the very definition of crazy to capitalize on the warming of the arctic - brought about by climate change due to the burning of fossil fuels - to INCREASE climate change by extracting MORE fossil fuels and then burning them and increasing climate change, etc, etc, etc. And that isn't limited to Trump - most of the current US oligarchy is all for deregulating anything and everything, opening up all the national parks, etc, and extracting every cubic inch of raw resources for maximum profit anywhere and everywhere in the world, including the arctic. I hear Russia is also looking at laying claim to lots of the arctic as well in order to do the same thing.
Even if you think all of the universal scientific concensus on climate change is baloney and you choose to believe the 0.5% of scientists (funded by the fossil fuel industry) who say it is hooey, you should still look upon this resource grab as vile and disgusting. Even if there is only a REMOTE possibility that we are rendering the planet uninhabitable for future generations by our use of fossil fuels, shouldn't you wish to err on the side of caution, JUST IN CASE? Is short-term profit so very valuable that you would gamble on the lives of your children, and grand children?

Yeah I retract my comment on t'other thread about it not being crazy - what I meant to say is that there appears to be a plan to profit from it. You're dead right - it is crazy what we're doing with fossil fuels now - tech already exists for us to move beyond it.

Danish politicians on Friday poured scorn on the idea.
"It has to be an April Fool's joke. Totally out of season," former prime minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said on Twitter.
"If he is truly contemplating this, then this is final proof, that he has gone mad," foreign affairs spokesman for the Danish People's Party, Soren Espersen, told broadcaster DR.
"The thought of Denmark selling 50,000 citizens to the United States is completely ridiculous," he said.
The best reply I have seen to this... Trump: "We are going to buy Greenland...and Greenland is going to pay for it!"

I get a kick out of how he can break promises that he vehemently vowed would happen, and then his cultists just shrug their shoulders. They don't even care whether he follows through or not! "Mexico will pay for the wall, I guarantee it!" Then when it turns out he wants American taxpayers to pay for the wall - - his followers are totally cool with that Deplorables is way too kind a term for them. I've got a bag full that are far more accurate.

Talk about the man child... So how many invites will he get now if he is going on a visit another country to buy it tour? This doesn't surprise me, yet at the same time I just cannot get used to how immature and moronic this fucktwit is - no matter how many immature and moronic things he says and does. I wish some of his cultists would visit this forum and chime in - I would seriously love to get their take on this one example. How do they see this behavior and not roll their eyes at what a childish buffoon he is? And, sadly, displaying it on the world stage no less, as the leader of the US? I have never been very good at brain-washing myself. I can say "the earth is flat" a hundred times, but I'll never really convince myself of that. If I see behavior that is insane or pathetic or embarassing or even downright evil, I can try to shrug it off but deep down I am appalled by it, and I can't make myself NOT be appalled by it. So do his cultists TRULY love and respect his vulgarity, childishness, immaturity, etc, or are they somehow capable of making themselves ignore/not see these traits? And if the latter - how is that possible?

My son in laws do truly love and respect the guy and I have stopped trying to figure out why. They don't ever have a clear answer except something like, how's your 401 K doing or how's that paycheck, etc.

Yeah I didn't figure they would. Most Trump cultists don't have clear, concise answers to anything, just something vague about the economy or jobs or the stock market. When you ask for specific statistics, they can't provide them. It's a cult, they don't really need facts. Is your son in law by any chance a racist that you know of? Just curious.

One of them is and here's the most iconic ironic thing that could have happened to him. He had a neighbor whom he did not get along with. Won't get into specifics but let's just say they weren't swapping Xmas cards. When his neighbor moved he thought, awesome we got rid of that trash heap. The new neighbor, an African American family of 7. I still chuckle every time I go visit them. He went from white trash to his worst nightmare. Even though we live in a small town and there is lots of land, this neighbor is right across the street from him.
