From what I've seen on the public forums, I think perhaps people get a bit overly dramatic about some simple words that they can easily ignore. From a philosophical viewpoint, I fervently believe that no-one has the right not to be offended. Ofc, they do have a right to respond if they are offended.

However, the multiple PM's sounded like not a good move - if you're ignored once, you should have left it there.

Re - Eric’s post on the ‘Liesaboutme’ thread.

I’m not sure that replying to his attack on me that was removed after I’d been banned qualifies as an unsolicited message? The admins told me to carry it on that way in the previous weeks thread.

Again, the first message was in reply to that, and included an offer of a truce. I thought we were good when he replied on the thread that I wasn’t the reason he left. I only sent the second and 3rd messages in reply to him bringing up the messages on the thread.

Again - I’m not asking anyone to do anything - just replying in the only place I can. You guys in here are about 95% of the people I like, I can live without the other 5% 👍

Very late to the party on this one, but i did read through those drama filled threads last week.

Ray, you know i like you a lot, but i think you went way too far mate. He did too, absolutely, and i agree with you (to some extent) on the "cool kids" thing, but man, you just kept going and going and going.

Essentially, you two were NEVER going to agree, so why keep going? why keep going till you got banned? I know what your reply is going to be, and i get it, but it's not as if you didn't have your say?!

I don't agree with you being banned tho, and tweeting about it is super weird. (what did it say?) The guy seems hyper-sensitive, i've seen a lot of forum guys like that, especially forum "celebrities," but he also seems like a good guy, in a lot of ways.

I'll give you your right of reply in the forums if you want it, i believe in fair play, and i think you should still play on BCT.

Nah I’m good thanks mate. I’ll probably play on the BCT and stay out of the main forum. Most of the folk I like are here anyway. The BCT is like TGC1, and I was never on the forums for tbat👍

He does present as a nice guy, but as soon as you disagree with him he snipes at you. For me it was telling him he had no right to tell us to stop posting on the Trump thread. From that moment on he just kept nibbling away.

I’ll be interested to see if Paulus notices any difference with his interactions in 6 months or so, Eric got his back up when Paulus said I’m honest.

I could have completely avoided him by playing more and staying on the Euro, but my other pet Ron was on that lol.

OK Ray, this is where we're at-

I've had a very positive back and forth with him. We exchanged views on some of what happened, but it wasn't really about that. I was an advocate for you and tried to understand him. I don't think he's really changed his mind on anything to do with the argument, and i doubt you will either! But, honestly, i think that's besides the point, at this stage. You both have your very individual and personal take on it; probably both with some "right" and some "wrong" thoughts on it.

What he has done, is given me his e-mail and said if you want to discuss it, feel free. This would NOT be a chance to rehash things and get into another argument, this would be, i'd hope, a chance for both of you to say "i can see some of the stuff i did was out of order, and i apologise. I agree we should steer clear of each other from now on and just get on with enjoying BCT/TGCT." (he even said he could envisage nicities, if you guys really can both drop it.)

If that all goes well, he's happy to send Doyley a message saying "We've settled it, please just let Ray back in so he can enjoy season 6."

Ray, i know you're a stubborn fucker, (said lovingly! and being aware of my own shortcomings!) but I MASSIVELY advise you to just swallow your pride a bit, admit where you went wrong in some of it, and just bury the fucking hatchet with the guy!

It may not get you back, straight away, but i just honestly think it's the right thing to do anyway, and could end with you both feeling better! You don't have to agree with someone, you don't have to like someone, but surely a disagreement can happen without getting to this stage and WITH an ability to drop it after??

I think you're both just very sensitive and passionate guys, who clashed (very!) badly and couldn't let it drop. Have a bit about you and make peace with the guy. It'll make you feel better!

I had a read through this thread to see if I could extend an olive branch, but I'm not sure anything I say about my perspective would be welcomed. Ray's summary of the events isn't totally accurate from my point of view, but now that I've been painted as a coward and a POS, not sure anything I say matters.

It's hurtful to know that people think I'm acting like a forum "celebrity," being hyper-sensitive, or getting my "cool kids" to fight for me, because I never asked them for help. Anything they said was of their own volition. However, Ray did basically implicate them by saying that our fictional stories were stupid and that we were acting like a bunch of circle jerks (so, he basically called us all gay). As for the tweet, it was from my private account, and it NEVER mentioned anyone by name, nor did it have any "call to action" for people to support me. However, in Ray's replies he called me "a little bitch," "a cowardly liar," and said he had "pity for my family." From where I sit, the personal attacks in this scenario all came AT me from Ray.

As you can see, things get a bit more "balanced" when you can hear both sides of the story.

One thing that people may not know is that I did post something awful on the forums in the BCT thread that I really regret, and it was deleted by the Admins and I got a 3-day ban. It was the first time in 4 years I've ever crossed that line and I am not proud of it and I was definitely wrong for doing it, and I deserved the ban and the scolding from Doyley. I apologize to Ray and everyone who read that post before it was removed, I was WAY out of line there, and I accepted my punishment.

I had nothing to do with Ray's ban, that is the decision of the Admins, and I'm guessing they felt there was enough history there since this has happened with him and other people before. Either way, I would have no problem with him being allowed on the forums again, because I do not intend to continue this fight forward. In fact, at the end of the day, this probably boils down to two people having a huge misunderstanding and then taking it to a very personal level. I'm sorry if I never saw the "truce" offered in the PMs, but when the first one starts off with "I don't like you," and then continues with accusations and swearing at me, I don't find that to be very conducive to making amends, hence the reason I did not reply. But out of respect for Ray, I have not shown them to anyone in public, nor will I do so.

I know I've been painted as a liar and a coward and hyper-sensitive, etc. but I really don't have a history of being a problem in TGCT, so I hope I can get some benefit of the doubt here as well.

Ray - my email address is [e-mail], and you are more than welcome to email me if you would like to work this out. I never wanted any of this to happen, but I felt attacked from the moment you joined the BCT and started calling us out (this actually has NOTHING to do with the politics thread). I felt like you entered into a tour where there were things going on, and basically busted through the door telling us how stupid we were being, yet you wanted to be there. I never understood that, but I'm offering that we can work this out and move forward peacefully. I'm sure you're not a bad guy at heart, nor am I, so perhaps we can put this all behind us? I'd be more than happy to work things out and then call Doyley to tell him we're square to see if we can get ask for that perma-ban to be lifted. I don't know if it would help, but I'm willing to try.

As for Cricket, I would love to learn more about it, but unfortunately they don't put it on TV over in the states much at all so it's pretty hard to learn the game and follow the tables. :-(

I apologise to Eric for the way i said some of those things, some stuff in here must've been hard for him to read. I was trying to understand Ray's point of view, and i do kind of feel some of those things, but have sent a PM to him explaining my thoughts in more detail. It was insensitively put. I don't advocate ANY of the more "sweary" things Ray called Eric. Likewise, I still believe Ray is a good person who I respect a lot. (quite clearly, good people do bad shit, "good" does NOT mean "perfect...")

I think it's took guts for him to post here, and i can't really see much to disagree with in his comment. (save the fact you will probably NEVER agree on whatr happened! but like i said, i really don't feel that's important anymore anyway...)

All i can say to Ray is, again, take my previous advice, take Eric's Olive branch.

As an additional peace offering, I have deleted the tweet on my personal account that generally referenced this situation. I fully admit it was about Ray and Royce and such, and I shouldn't have put my opinion out there publicly even though it didn't name them specifically, and I apologize for doing that. I'm not trying to hide anything by deleting it, because I'm publicly telling you I'm doing it, but instead getting rid of it as a source of negativity so that it's eliminated.
