The number of conspiracy wingnuts the republicans have put into important positions of public office is absolutely ridiculous.
These are NOT serious people. America is a tinpot country.

MOSCOW—The opulent, fortified Kremlin, which stands right in the center of Moscow, looked like a besieged castle on Sunday. Metal fences, traffic cops and interior ministry riot troops blocked all the streets around Lubyanka square, the Federal Security Service (FSB) headquarters, and Red Square. The metro stations were closed. It is not COVID-19 that brought on this unprecedented lockdown, it is a man Vladimir Putin refers to only as “a blogger.” Alexei Navalny, the opposition leader is in jail, but he has called on his followers to take to the streets. Last weekend, they did so in numbers not seen for a decade—thousands were arrested. On Sunday, hundreds of policemen surrounded Pushkin square which was flooded with up to 40,000 protesters last weekend. A chain of policemen blocked the way to the square at noon, another group blocked the crossing under Tverskaya avenue. Riot police, covered in black armor from head to toe, dragged a young man in a black face mask outside Chistye Prudy metro station, his feet slipping on the wet snow. Speaking from court last week, Navalny described the regime’s actions, as “demonstrative lawlessness.” After thousands of arrests last weekend, the authorities jailed more than 150 people mid-week including key activists from Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation, many remained in pretrial detention centers. Police continued detaining journalists, bloggers, administrators of Telegram chats, protesters and even random pedestrians on Sunday for covering or organizing the unsanctioned rally. By lunchtime, more than 1,000 people were arrested in 40 cities according to OVD-Info, which is an independent police monitor. Joining the law enforcement officials in Moscow were hundreds of civilian guards wearing the red arm bands of the Druzhina, a Soviet-era people’s militia.
Not only Russia, there are protests everywhere right now for a myriad of reasons. The world is spinning out of control and I know I have no answer as to what should be done.

"The Texas public safety department raised a few eyebrows in the Lone Star state by reportedly sending out an emergency alert asking its citizens to keep an eye out for Chucky – the evil possessed doll from the horror movie series Child’s Play – whom it said was a suspect in a kidnapping.
The message went out over the state’s Amber Alert system, which is blasted to people’s mobile phones, usually to help find a missing child. It was sent three times.
It described the suspect as being called Chucky and listed him as a 28-year-old with red, auburn hair, blue eyes who stood at 3ft 1in tall and weighed 16lbs. He was said to be wearing blue denim overalls with a multi-colored striped long sleeve shirt and carrying a large knife – matching his appearance in the films.
His race was listed as “Other: Doll.”

Go Canada:
TORONTO (AP) — The Canadian government designated the Proud Boys group as a terrorist entity on Wednesday, noting they played a pivotal role in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
The Proud Boys have faced increased scrutiny after seizing on the former Trump administration’s policies and the group was a major agitator during earlier protests and the Capitol riot on Jan. 6. The Proud Boys is a far-right, male chauvinist extremist group known for engaging in violent clashes at political rallies. Canada is the first country to designate them as a terrorist entity.
During a September presidential debate, Donald Trump had urged the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by” when asked to condemn them by a moderator.
Senior officials speaking on a technical briefing said authorities had been monitoring and collecting evidence about the Proud Boys before the Capitol Hill insurrection, but confirmed that the event provided information that helped with the decision to list the organization.
Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said they revealed themselves.
“Their intent and their escalation toward violence became quite clear," Blair said.

Serious question. Have any of you read the constitution. Minus the loser of course. It's a nice read. Literally a meaningless comment. Especially as even lawmakers can't agree on interpretations of the constitution and especially as having read it counts for nothing. But, and I'm opening myself up for further meaningless, annoying and boring comments here, not only have I "read" it, I've studied it, and American politics in general, and been assessed on my knowledge of it. But people like you fucking despise intellectuals and academics. (And we all know what the real reason for that is.) You'll now play the snowflake victim and rant about universities, "leftist agendas," and general hatred of experts. (I thought you just wanted to know if we'd read it??) Yeah, it's "a nice read..."

The House voted 230-199 in favor of removing Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments. Eleven Republicans voted with Democrats.
Greene was assigned to serve on the House budget committee and the House education and labor committee.
Greene had delivered a speech before her fellow lawmakers in which she denied her previous, baseless claims that the September 11 attack and Parkland massacre were staged. She insisted that she did not talk about QAnon during her campaign, despite evidence that she did. And she did not apologize for her many, many racist, anti-Muslim and antisemitic comments, or her threats of violence against Democrats in Congress, including speaker Nancy Pelosi.
During the debate, majority leader Steny Hoyer exhibited a Facebook post in which Greene is holding a gun next the faces of progressive congresswomen of color. “Imagine your faces on this poster. Imagine it’s a Democrat with an AR-15. Imagine what your response would be,” Hoyer said to his Republican colleagues.

"Yemenis have cautiously welcomed Joe Biden’s announcement that the US is ending its support for the Saudi-led coalition fighting in the country’s complex war, saying the decision is an important step on the long road towards finding a peaceful solution to the conflict.
In his first foreign policy speech as president on Thursday, Biden announced a broad reshaping of US relations with the rest of the world, including his predecessor Donald Trump’s unquestioning support for Gulf monarchies with poor human rights records at home and abroad.
Biden said the conflict in Yemen, which has killed around 233,000 people and left 80% of the population of 29 million dependent on aid, had “created a humanitarian and strategic catastrophe”.
“This war has to end,” he said. “And to underscore our commitment, we’re ending all American support for offensive operations in the war in Yemen, including relevant arm sales.”
Biden’s announcement was greeted with cautious optimism by several Yemenis to whom the Guardian spoke on Friday. “This is a long overdue and great step which opens the possibility of shifting to a diplomatic rather than military solution to the war,” said Ahmed Abdo Ali, a resident of Sana’a.
The impact of one of Trump’s final decisions in the White House – designating the Houthis as a terrorist organisation – was another urgent humanitarian issue Biden must address to prevent unnecessary civilian suffering, Ali said. “What needs to happen now is the president must undo the [terrorism designation] because it will have such grave economic repercussions for ordinary Yemeni citizens, and it will make the Houthis even less likely to engage with the peace process.”

Of course he isn't going to get convicted. The Republicans have no integrity, morals or common decency to vote against dear leader. Some of them talked a big game on Jan7 but after a few days of Trump and his minions telling everyone what to do "or else" they all caved and are now towing the party line. Shameful. Really shows what that party is all about. About time it gets fractured into obscurity.
Weird way to flex about how rich you (think) are though. Guess the booze is impairing judgement. And this clown fetish is weird too. So much hate and vitriol. Maybe someday people will grow up and become adults and learn to treat people with respect and courtesy and give up on the drunk drive by posts and actually engage in calm polite adult conversation without the insults.

For the cultists, why does the world hate the USA when repubs are in control? Can you show me proof that Biden has anything at all to do with gas prices going up or down....and if he does have this control, why did your idol not lower them to under a dollar when he was in charge?

And I am enjoying the news not being taken over by a petty child with orange skin...I am actually smiling a whole lot more nowadays. LOL...you aren't done here. You think those who oppose you get all bent out of shape by your idol love and following his example of bullying...guess what libtard...nevergonnahappen.
